Thank you for visiting our Bright Futures web site and learning more about this critical program. The Park Foundation is working closely with the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Police Department, Public Schools, and many other County agencies to provide our youngest and most vulnerable citizens with a chance to enjoy a Bright Future.
Gangs now recruit children in elementary and middle school because the members know children less than 14 years old cannot be charged as adults for committing major crimes. Many of the children we will reach with Bright Futures have no other options in this summer.
According to the Fairfax County Police Gang Investigations Unit, there are more than 2,000 people, including students, that affiliate themselves with gangs in Fairfax County. The primary goal of Bright Futures is to provide kids with an attractive alternative that is more fun and more exciting.
This program works! However, we will need your financial support in order the serve the growing number of kids considered at-risk in Fairfax County. Please consider helping a needy kid grow up to enjoy a Bright Future.
Sincerely and Gratefully,
Bob Brennan
Executive Director
Fairfax County Park Foundation
